MOUNTAIN GOATS
Hunts are 1:1. We have excellent opportunity for mountain goats with a 95% success rate and several Boone and Crocket qualifiers.
The season opens September 1st and the weather is generally nice through September and the first week of October. The coats are good at this time of year and these early hunts are preferable to assure us of good weather.
The terrain is rolling alpine, between 6,000 and 8,000 feet. It is not particularly steep or precipitous and much of the scouting can be done on horseback. You will see a number of goats during the hunt and you don't have to be a goat to get one!
