MOUNTAIN GOATS: Hunts are 1:1. We have excellent opportunity for mountain goats with a 95% success rate and several Boone and Crocket qualifiers. The season opens September 1st and the weather is generally nice through September and the first week of October. The coats are good at this time of year and these early hunts are preferable to assure us of good weather. The terrain is rolling alpine, between 6,000 and 8,000 feet. It is not particularly steep or precipitous and much of the scouting can be done on horseback. You will see a number of goats during the hunt and you don't have to be a goat to get one!
MULE DEER: We're starting to find some good mule deer in the alpine areas along the boundary of Tweedsmuir Park and in the high McClinchy Creek country. I'll give you a very competitive price for a seven-day hunt with one of my best young guides. Four Point season opens September 1. This hunt is a good deal and includes complete outfitting, guided 1:1, license and tag. You can also add a mule deer to any other fall hunt for an additional fee of $500.
Price quoted includes: license, tags, float plane charter, guide service, meals, complete outfitting, including care of trophies and inspection.
